How to connect a playlist

Astra plays what you add. Bring an M3U/M3U8 playlist or the Xtream details for a source you have permission to use.

Last updated: 12 October 2026. Applies to Astra IPTV for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV (com.astra.iptv).

1. Have your source details ready

For a full playlist link, choose M3U URL. For a server, username and password, choose Xtream. On iPhone and iPad you can also import an M3U file from Files. Astra does not sell or provide playlists.

2. Connect on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Astra and choose Add my playlist.
  2. Select Xtream, M3U URL or File to match your details.
  3. Enter your source details and connect. The name and XMLTV link are optional.
  4. Open a channel, movie or episode from your list to start playback.

The guide needs valid XMLTV programme data. An empty section may mean your source does not offer that kind of content.

3. Bring it to Apple TV

With the same private iCloud account on both devices, supported lists, favourites and progress can sync. Settings shows the status and lets you request synchronization. You can also connect Xtream or an M3U URL directly with the Apple TV keyboard, including input from a nearby iPhone.

Locally imported files are not transferred as playable files. Apple TV uses M3U URLs and Xtream connections.

4. If something goes wrong

Check your connection, address and credentials, and whether your provider limits simultaneous connections. Try another item from the same list. For help, visit support; never share passwords or private links.
